Orange Beach Volunteer Fire & Rescue 43rd annual Cookout on the Coast at the Orange Beach Community Center. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets, available in advance at the OBFD, are $7 for your choice of barbecue plate, with pulled pork, bread, baked beans, slaw and a pickle or two pulled pork sandwiches and a pickle. Bulk meat also will be available at $7 per pound. Homemade desserts will be sold by the Ladies Auxiliary. All proceeds will go to the Orange Beach Volunteer Fire & Rescue. Fort Morgan's Salute to American Independence at the fort. From 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., interpreters dressed in uniforms from various periods of Fort Morgan's history will offer guided tours and firing demonstrations. A Civil War cannon will be fired in honor of the nation's birthday. There will NOT be a fireworks display. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 children for ages 6-12, free for younger children. Gulf Coast’s Premier 4th of July Celebration at The Wharf. The Wharf has partnered with Grammy-nominated country music sensation Montgomery Gentry for a live concert at The Amphitheater at The Wharf as a part of the Pepsi Star Series. The concert will include a live performance by the country duo, as well as patriotic songs and dedications. A grand fireworks extravaganza is promised. Throughout the day, Main Street at The Wharf will be filled with festive activities, including a hot dog eating contest sponsored by WKSJ radio and games hosted by the Orange Beach Fire Department. The Wharf’s more than 15 restaurants will join in for the celebration of the nations’ birthday through the holiday weekend with fun events and delectable specials. Gulf Shores annual Fireworks Extravaganza at the main beach in Gulf Shores. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. and will be visible from any Gulf Shores area beach. Tune your radio to Sunny 105.7 for current fireworks information and simultaneous patriotic music during the show. Rain date July 5th.
