Gulf Coast Boat Super Show at The Wharf in Orange Beach. One of the largest boat shows in the Southeast, featuring boats from 8 to 80 feet, including fishing boats, ski boats, offshore boats, runabouts, personal watercraft and more. With more than 100 boats in the water and 150 boats on land, the event will include demonstrations, vendors and a surfing contest on the only full-size electric surfboard on the Gulf Coast. 2010 Orange Beach Festival of Art, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Waterfront Park on Canal Road. The show will be larger than ever this year, with 55 artists displaying. Adding to the long tradition of fine arts and crafts, this year’s festival will add four attractions. A Literary Arts Tent will house regional and celebrity authors, book readings and book signings. The new Drama and Dance Stage will feature performances of theater troupes and dance performances. For the youngest artists, the Children's Art Alley will offer exciting, hands-on art experiences. At the Songwriters and Musicians Stage, guests will enjoy some amazing regional talent, as songwriters share their songs, play and sing for everyone. Fairhope's 58th annual Arts and Crafts Festival, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily on the streets of downtown Fairhope. More than 200 exhibitors from throughout the United States will bring their best works to show and sell at this prestigious juried show. Live entertainment will be ongoing during the three-day event, and the food court will serve up some unique cuisine. BRATS will offer shuttle service from the Plantation Pointe Shopping Center, Eastern Shore Village Shopping Center and Ecor Rouge Place, all less than a 5-minute ride away. The 38th annual Outdoor Art Show, presented by the Eastern Shore Art Center, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the grounds of the Eastern Shore Art Center and surrounding downtown area of Fairhope. This three-day fine art event attracts more than 200,000 visitors from around the country.

 

 

March 20

Second annual BBQ & Blues Cook-Off, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Foley. Proceeds from the event benefit the Chamber Foundation’s many educational programs for Foley High School feeder pattern schools. The ticket price to enter the gated event is $10; free for ages 10 and younger. Third annual Denim and Diamonds, to benefit Covenant Hospice patient and family services in Baldwin County. Join Dan and Shelby of 95 KSJ as they host the event, starting at 7 p.m. at Oak Hollow Farm in Fairhope. The evening will include dinner and live music by “gritsNpieces.” Partygoers will also have the chance to bid in a silent auction on items such as golf packages, vacation getaways and artwork. The highlight of the evening will be an optional “Diamond Dig.” Tickets are $35 per person in advance, $40 per person at the door. Blue jeans and glitzy western attire are recommended for the event. Siege of Fort Blakeley Reenactment. Come join period soldiers for a recreation of the last major battle of the Civil War and the largest battle in the State of Alabama. Period camps and soldier life will be open to public inspection each day, and there will be cannon firings with public inspection of precision gun drill each morning. The Mardi Gras Krewe Treasures of the Isle will hold its second annual Festival from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Orange Beach Sportsplex on Canal Road. Lots of food and fun for the whole family is being planned. Food booth offerings will include German sausages, corn dogs, nachos and fresh strawberry shortcakes. A large assortment of arts and Craft will be available for sale. In addition, the Festival will feature a community yard sale. Proceeds will benefit local charities. Admission is free. 15th South Baldwin Relay for Life at Heritage Park in Foley. The 11th annual Fairhope Historic Homes Tour, featuring five homes, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The homes featured on this year’s tour are: 653 Fairhope Ave., Ross and Julia Hobbs; 601 N. Doors will open at 5 p.m. The "Gulf Coast Zydeco Music & Crawfish Festival" presents some of the best Zydeco dance bands that lower Louisiana has to offer. In addition to the bands are the Zydeco dancers from around the country and Zydeco dance instructors ready to teach you how to Zydeco two-step. Farmers Market-Music-Movie, beginning at 4 p.m., at Heritage Park in downtown Foley. Fresh produce, plants, flowers, baked goods and more will be for sale. Live music will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a movie on the big screen at dusk. Bring lawn chairs and blankets, and plan to stay for an evening of fresh food and family fun. Art in the Park, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lott Park in Daphne.
